People Ambassadors program
One of the key strengths of Wipro has been its commitment towards the engagement and development of its talent base which includes en culturization of its workforce to the Spirit of Wipro and providing the “human touch” to its employees. Having a strong and empowered HR team is the key to the success of this approach. To help create this high potential HR talent pool, Wipro has launched a program called “People Ambassadors Program (PAP)”.

The PAP selects the best of graduate talent across the country and grooms them over three years of time period. Apart from performance in a management aptitude test, the recruits have been chosen based on their skill levels w.r.t interpersonal sensitivity, problem solving skills, customer orientation, self confidence and team working abilities which are the most needed skills for a HR professional.

Apart from providing the people Ambassadors(as these recruits are fondly called at Wipro)live hands on experience in the HR domain, this program provides an opportunity to pursue an three-semester (18 months) work integrated collaborative Executive Diploma in HR Management(EPGDHRM) program from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune, India.

The People Ambassador's of Wipro Work on challenging HR assignments during Weekdays. Some of them include getting involved in HR operations, interfacing with employees and making them feel comfortable at the workplace, inducting new employees at Wipro and managing events to realize the concept of “Fun at Work” for Wiproite's. Throughout this journey they receive coaching and mentoring from senior HR managers of Wipro. This helps them better understand the theory learnt as part of the EPGDHRM classes which is run on Saturdays.

Commenting on the launch of the program Pratik Kumar, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Wipro Ltd. said “The PAP is a unique approach for nurturing and building our HR talent pool that would be aligned to organizational needs. I am confident that the people ambassador's will be the pillars of our HR success story”.
